The first issue of
Empire was published in July 1989 and since then has become the biggest selling
magazine in Britain. The magazine is published every month from Bauer Consumer
Media. Some Regular features of the magazine are: film news, previews and
reviews and a top ten regular feature list. Empire is published in Britain,
America, Australia, Turkey, Russia and Portugal and outsells its market rival
film magazine called Total Film by over two to one.

Future Publishing
publishes total Film every four months. Although Empire is the biggest selling
film magazine in Britain, Total Film is the second biggest selling. Some of the
regular features are news, reviews and features e.g. photo shoots and full-length
interviews. This magazine was launched in 1997.
